"As a good work of fiction should be, Nailed! is carefully
crafted to prevent quick interpretations and conclusions. To break
through its layers, one needs attention, perspicacity,
and patience. Deciphering its plot structure is like an exercise
of logic, or solving a mystery puzzle. There are clues and signs,
but it is the spectator who needs to put them together, often having
to revaluate positions, as new pieces of information are disclosed
in a fragmented and— not always chronological— way. Therefore, Nailed! establishes
a dialogue with the viewers, requesting an active role on their part.
It is a very important film at this moment in which Brazilian immigration
to the United States keeps increasing and Brazucas and Brazilian-Americans
are struggling for representation, participation, and inclusion into
the US society."

World Literature
